The Ultimate 10 Minute Video Guide to Writing Powerful Advertising and Marketing Copy

September 2nd, 2009

Admit it, we’ve all been there, no matter how long you have been copywriting, we all hit walls or writer’s block at some point in time.

I watched a video a while back from Jay Abraham that really and truly eliminated that from ever happening again in my own copywriting.

I stumbled across the video again today and bookmarked it this time, and thought I’d share it here with all of you, it’s just that good.

If you are new to copywriting, I strongly urge you to bookmark this page right now and watch this short ten minute video over and over until it sinks in.

By doing so, you will be light years ahead of many that have paid thousands for the long, dry, boring copywriting courses by some of the masters.

If you don’t have the ten minutes to watch the video right now, PLEASE bookmark it, you will thank me when you find the time to watch it!

Google Set To Introduce New Operating System

July 8th, 2009

Hey there,

There has been a lot of talk about “Cloud or virtual  computing” lately.

Well, it seems, Google is close to unveiling it’s new Open Source OS called “Chrome”.

http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/07/08/google.chrome.os/index.html

I can’t wait to try something like this on the new, small, netbooks.

Your thoughts?

Do you think this will effect MicroSoft’s bottom line?

There are certainly some interesting times ahead.

Google Wave - Are You Ready?

May 30th, 2009

Hey gang,

I’ve got something to show you today that I think will completely revolutionize they way we communicate online, and I mean that seriously.

If you have not seen this yet, be prepared to be blown away.

Harry McCracken at technologizer.com says the following:

A new service which - well, it’s one of the most ambitious services that Google or anyone else has cooked up? How ambitious? Project leader Lars Rasmussen says that it began with the question “What might e-mail look like if it were invented today?” … It:

* Is a service that looks like a rich piece of client software;
* Behaves like sophisticated threaded e-mail;
* Acts like IM when multiple collaborators are online at once.
* Is one of the most real-time collaborative tools I’ve ever seen.
* Has revision marking and versioning for workgroup editing.
* Has instant photo sharing.
* Allows its functionality to be embedded into blogs and social networks;
* Can serve as a container for OpenSocial applications;
* Has what Google says is a revolutionary spell checker;
* Comes in mobile flavors for Android and iPhone;
* Is an open-source project that lets developers write both Wave extensions … and their own servers.more

This is something you need to take a serious look at right now, before it slips your mind because this is going to create some huge new waves, pardon the pun.

Here is a 2 hour developer preview Google I/O where they take you through Wave:

Notice I said “developer”?

Yes, it is Open Source ;)

Let me know your thoughts on this thing, the possibilities seem endless.

Microsoft About To Launch Bing Search Engine

May 28th, 2009

Hey gang,

Have you seen or heard of the latest search engine about to be released by MicroSoft?

It’s called BING

It’s not been released yet but they do have a large group of beta testers and this preview video:

http://www.decisionengine.com/Default.html

I have no idea how well this will be received in the world of search, but they did add a bunch of very useful local search tools.

I don’t know about you, but finding something locally is always a crap shoot here, let’s hope they can get rid of some of the directory type sites. Who wants to go from a search engine right to a directory?

Anyhow, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

Become a “GURU” for just $1.00 - Honestly!

May 23rd, 2009

He there,

I’m up at my camper for the weekend and it started raining so I hopped in the Jeep and headed out to this little hole in the wall discount grocery store around here for something to do.

I love this little store because they always have a large variety of strange foods, snacks and drinks that you never see in a regular grocery store.

While my son was browsing the large selection of energy drinks they had in stock he asked me, “dad, what’s a guru”?

I did a double take and said, where did you hear that term, that’s something someone is called when they are the best at what they do, the all knowing one.

I then asked him where he heard the word and lo and behold, he handed me a 10 oz can of “Guru”.

Here’s a picture

guruWhile waiting to check out I had visions of the cashier trying to up sell me on a 12-pack of the stuff, or an auto-ship of some sort

It was warm so I had to put it into the fridge when we got back to the camper, but I plan on cracking that baby after dinner and becoming an instant “Guru”

For Only $1.00

Be on the lookout tomorrow where I espouse my new found wisdom in the form of a $4,997 coaching program WSO from a true Guru

All kidding aside, Happy Memorial Day weekend, get away from the computer, jeez I even live this stuff in the middle of nowhere lol

Yahoo’s Taking A Shot At A Twitter Clone?

May 14th, 2009

Hey gang,

The Washington Post is reporting that Yahoo is attempting to create a near complete clone of Twitter.

Have things gotten that desperate at Yahoo that they can’t even seem to come up with their own innovative ideas anymore?

It wasn’t that long ago really that Yahoo was the king of the mountain, now it seems that it pales in comparison to the behemoth in Mountain View.

Anyhow, here is the entire Post article:

Yahoo’s Twitter Clone
