Have You Seen Google’s New “Wonder Wheel”?

Hey Gang,

In case you missed it, Google has just released a cool new set of tools on it’s search pages.

First off, head on over to Google and do a basic search for the term ‘diet’.

When the results come up, look right under the Google Logo to the left of the search box and click, “Show options…”.

Now, down near the bottom you will see a link called, “Wonder Wheel”, click that…

Cool eh?

Now is when it gets very interesting…

Click any of the spokes on the wheel and you can dig deep into the diet niche and find some very cool sub-niches related to the original term,“diet”.

This is a fantastic way to find new untapped sub-niches to exploit ;)

Enjoy!

Scot

  5. May 14th, 2009 at 14:01 | #5

Can you explain a little more about how the spokes of the wheel lead to unexplored niches? Does Google provide any explanation to decode the Wonder Wheel? I didn’t see any.

    Jeanne,

Here’s an overview video from Google itself.

    Wonder Wheel

I have not played around with this enough to give you an indepth review yet, but it is a great way to find untapped niches within a niche.

It’s also a great way to find related topics in any niche, things that Google find relevant to the main keyword. Perfect for writing articles for article marketing.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Susanne,

I’m not sure on that, perhaps someone else from outside the US can chime in and let us know if this feature is exclusive to the US users only at the moment?

    Hi Scott,

    Thanks for that.
Wonder Wheel has lots of uses.

Certainly the wonder wheel is pretty cool: it’s also interesting to see what Google thinks about your site. I haven’t checked, but maybe they’re just using the “related” feature and presenting it in a different way.

In any case, certainly it’s interesting to see what my competitors’ sites are about. I was able to concentrate on some other stuff that my competitor is doing and see some phrases that I’m going to optimize for.

As for it working here, it’s just fine for me. But I also checked on another laptop and it’s not showing up. So, it might just be some more time before it’s rolled out to all of the datacenters.

Holy CR%P!!! Wow, what a find! Thank you for sharing this! I’m delving into keyword research right now and this couldn’t have come at a better time! I’m anxious to tell all my readers! Man, am I a happy list-camper! LOL!

  13. May 14th, 2009 at 15:04 | #13

    Pretty groovy!

Dumb as it seems, I really like the spin around graphics!

And yes, I’m in Canada, and I see it

So maybe you just need to scroll down to the bottom left to see the Wonder Wheel link

Wonder Wheel is cool but what I like is that now Google users can find my review sites faster!

    Hi Scott,

Great tip, gave me already some ideas for my next articles and placement PPC:-)

    Susanne,

The feature should work from outside US, at least for me. If not, use http://www.proxy202.com and choose US flag, go to Google and you are in USA to use the Wonder Wheel.

    Hope that helps.

    Susanne F :
Cannot find it – perhaps this in only on Google-US ?

It’s available to anyone on http://www.google.com –> but not on google.fr or .be, etc.

Just type your search, then enter and above all results click on “show options”; that’s it :)

By the way, it’s a great option provided by Google! Thanks for sharing!
